A Day and Evening of Journalism to Celebrate Knight Hall

Knight Event- Use this.jpg A night of journalism is on the horizon. On April 21, the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill School of Journalism will celebrate the dedication of John S. and James L. Knight Hall with an evening dinner.

During the day there will speakers and forums such as “Addicted to the Media” with Dr. Susan Moeller (read more about her after the jump), the “Front Lines of Journalism” with Jay Kernis, managing editor, CNN, and “Reinventing Local News” with the head of Allbritton’s latest venture, Jim Brady. There will be a speech on “Information 3.0″ with Dr. Ronald Yaros (read more about him after the jump).


Dr. Ronald Yaros: Philip Merrill College of Journalism Faculty; For 2010, he teaches the new “I” series course Information 3.0 plus a graduate seminar in new media research. His experience spans 25 years as an emmy award-winning broadcaster and President of a national software company. Publications: Communication Research, Harvard’s Nieman Reports, American Journalism Review, a chapter in Journalism and Citizenship: New Agendas.
