Angry Olivier

That keen-eyed Slate reporter Dave Weigel noticed this snapshot this morning in the Financial Times. He observed a “displeased” expression in Agence France-Presse‘s political reporter Olivier Knox. Olivier is pictured below at far left. Olivier responded to Weigel by saying, “Dammit, Dave Weigel. I’m trying to contain the outbreak. You’re driving the monkey to the airport.”

What was Olivier thinking at the time of this picture? He explained to FishbowlDC this morning,  “My scowl stemmed directly from the knowledge that the photo would utterly undermine my argument to my boss that the debt fight has me stretched dangerously thin. He’s going to say that a strict exercise regimen of jumping to conclusions apparently agrees with me, and I am on track to become too big to fail.”
