Crowley to Time

From Time’s Rick Stengel:

I am delighted to announce that Michael Crowley is joining TIME as a senior correspondent in our Washington bureau. Mike is one of the most talented and versatile journalists covering politics and foreign affairs today and he will also become a deputy bureau chief to Michael Duffy. He comes to us from The New Republic where he not only covered the 2008 presidential race, but has reported extensively on both domestic politics and foreign policy. Mike is a 1994 graduate of Yale and has been tracking national politics since he was a reporter at The Boston Globe, where he also covered the 2000 presidential campaign. His writing on everything from nuclear terrorism to Jack Abramoff to pop music has also appeared in The New York Times Magazine, New York, The Atlantic, GQ, Slate and many other places. He has been a regular commentator as well on CNN, MSNBC, NPR and CBS. His voice, his intelligence, his rigorous reporting and elegant writing will be a great addition to TIME. Please join me in welcoming Mike to TIME
