FBDC FaceRace: DC Pubs

We took a look at where DC newspapers and online publications stood on Twitter, now let’s turn our attention to the Book of Faces. We compared each of the pubs’ Fan Page likes and came away with some interesting results.

Here are the top take aways: 1) WaPo has leaped ahead of USA Today in Facebook likes over the past month. The two were neck and neck last month with right around 1.26 million each. 2) The Washington Examiner continues to dominate its competitors on Facebook, but Politico is catching up fast. They increased their Facebook likes by nearly 20% in January. If both pubs keep adding likes at the same rate, Politico will pull ahead by next month.

Newspapers:

Washington Post: 1,439,636 (+14.43% month over month)
USA Today: 1,404,914 likes (+11.5% MOM)
Washington Times: 49,064 (+9.35% MOM)
Washington City Paper: 10,238 (+1.7% MOM)

Political Pubs/Websites:

Washington Examiner: 236,209 (+2.77% MOM)
Politico: 208,515 (+19.6% MOM)
Daily Caller: 133,155 (+4.18% MOM)
The Hill: 46,311 (+6.6% MOM)
Roll Call: 32,189 (+4.0% MOM)
National Journal: 26,634 (11.3% MOM)
