On Wednesday, the National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America announced two additions to its Hall of Fame. On September 9th at the chapter’s annual Thoth Awards Gala, former press secretary to President Carter, Jody Powell, and former press secretary to First Lady Nancy Reagan, Sheila Tate, will be inducted.
Powell and Tate are the co-founders of the public affairs firm Powell Tate, now a part of Weber Shandwick. Powell passed away in 2009. Tate retired in 2012.
“There are literally hundreds of practitioners around town who learned at hands, and whose careers would not have been possible without their influence,” said Brian Wommack, a Powell Tate SVP, in a chapter release about the inductions.
