FW Celebrates First Anniversary in Style

Schuman signed copies of his book at FW’s first anniversary party.
WaPo‘s fashion magazine FW celebrated a one-year anniversary in style last evening at newly opened Masa 14.
The FW team- publisher Jenny Abramson, editor Jennifer Barger and senior editor Betsy Lowther- welcomed everyone. “Even when 401Ks get cut in half, people like to look good.”
Philippe Cousteau and Alexandra Cousteau, grandchildren of Jacques Cousteau and Washingtonians themselves, were the mag’s guests of honor, for “exuding style while creating eco-awareness.”
“The Sartorialist” Scott Schuman, who was featured in FW‘s latest issue, sold and signed copies of his book. Schuman is a New York fashion photographer– though not your typical fashion photographer. He shoots people on the street, more abstractly.
The party was slated to end at 9pm, but with a line down the bar for “The Sartorialist” signings, we hear it went on until after midnight. Schuman blogs this morning, “I expected great things in cities like London and Paris, but DC was a total surprise.”
It was certainly a ladies night… Pamela Sorensen, Jayne Sandman, Kiki Ryan, Jessica Gibson, Pamela Brown, Angie Goff, Rachel Cothran, Jessica Hoy, Juleanna Glover, Becca Glover and Kate Michael all spotted by. And some male representation- Pepper Watkins and John Cpin. FBDC also spotted the speculated “Real Housewives of DC,” though sans camera crew.

Guests modeled for FW photographers. Pics could show up in the magazine.
