Hotline Interviews Brody

From Hotline’s “Friday Feature”:

David Brody is senior nat’l corr. for CBN News. He also writes the “Brody Files.” Before his CBN News gig, he worked for stations in Colorado Springs, Denver and DC. But today he’s our Friday Feature:

    What was your first job?

I worked at Sedutto’Ice Cream Parlor when I was 14. My wrist hurt after a week and I knew I was more a white collar type guy.

What’s your most embarrassing on-the-job moment? (Or as embarrassing as you’d like to reveal?)

I was a radio DJ in Colorado Springs. I was working the Saturday afternoon shift and I put on American Pie by Don McLean and ran to my car to get something. You know, 8 minute song. Well, the radio station door locked behind me. I was locked up for an hour until the General Manager came from home to let me in.

What is your biggest weakness (and not your job interview biggest weakness)?

I love food. If I’m happy I eat. If I’m sad, I eat. I simply like to eat.

And finally, we’re ending this feature with a question posed by the last interviewee. This is from PBS’ Jeffrey Brown: Who are your favorite and least favorite fictional reporters and why?

Ron Burgundy from the movie “Anchorman” would have to be my least favorite because he was so overtly sexist. There’s no place for that in our business. (though I’ve seen plenty) Clark Kent has to be my favorite. He has a strong moral compass and at the same time was able to save the world. Where does he find the time and get the energy for all of that?
