Is Rahm Emanuel Stephanapoulos’ #1 Source?

After reading John Harris’ piece in Politico yesterday about long-standing morning phone calls between James Carville, George Stephanopoulos, Paul Begala and Rahm Emanuel, we had to wonder if it was Emanuel whom Stephanopoulos called during this Q&A Cafe interview last fall.

During the interview, Stephanopoulos had to step out of the interview briefly to confirm a phone call he received from ABC News informing him that there’s a deal on Capitol Hill re: the bank bailout.

Carol Joynt (host): Who did you talk to to find out that information?

George: I’m not going to tell you… My first call is to someone who knows and will tell me.

Joynt: On the Hill?

George: Yeah.
