‘Bad Boy Reporter’ To Wed HGTV Host

Conservative author and radio show host Jason Mattera is tying the knot. Mattera told FishbowlDC he proposed to Kendra Todd back in April.

Todd is many things: She owns a real estate group and hosts HGTV’s My House Is Worth What? But more importantly, she worked for Donald Trump after winning the third season of his NBC game show The Apprentice in 2005.

“She’s super awesome and a hottie,” Mattera said. “I’m a lucky brother.”

Todd’s biography describes her as “undoubtedly one of the youngest and most diversely successful female entrepreneurs today.” She must be awesome. Then again, that biography is written on her own website.

Mattera, a regular wearer of wife beater tank tops, said the two met in early November last year, “strangely enough” at a conference at which they were both speaking in Forth Worth, Texas. “We ended up ditching the conference after our session and chilling at some honky-tonk bar (it was Fort Worth, Texas, after all),” he said.

They got engaged in the Bishop’s Garden at the National Cathedral in Washington. The wedding is three weeks away in Miami.

Politico profiled Mattera, known for his ambush interviews of high-profile liberals and Democrats, and last year dubbed him “D.C.’s bad boy reporter.”

It remains to be seen whether Mattera will wear a wife beater on his wedding day.
