Kurtz on Politico Allen’s Influence: ‘I’m Afraid I Don’t Get it’

Ouch.

The sting of WaPo’s Howard Kurtz is in the air with his story on NYT Magazine’s epic cover story on Politico’s Mike Allen. Even Politico featured Kurtz’s story on their Media page, saying, “Kurtz doesn’t understand the Allen Profile.”

Interesting. Kurtz doesn’t understand it, as in he’s stupid? Or, Kurtz doesn’t understand, meaning he questions it. Kurtz wonders why “scooplets” and birthday announcements are considered “influential.” See the story here.

Allen had no comment on Kurtz’s piece.

An excerpt:
If the cover of the New York Times Magazine is any indication, Mike Allen must be the most important journalist in Washington. I’m afraid I don’t get it.
