MAA: Roll Call’s Farewell

It is with a mix of pride and sadness that I inform you that our beloved Heard on the Hill, Mary Ann Akers, will be leaving the Roll Call family early next year.

Mary Ann will be joining WashingtonPost.com to write an online political insiders column.

Since May of 2004 she has been the reigning Queen of Capitol Hill gossip and has used her trademark wit to help maintain the column’s status as one of our best-read features. Prior to that, her career included stints covering air disaster investigations for National Public Radio, the scandal beat at the Washington Times and work for National Journal’s CongressDaily.

She will be sorely missed. Please join me in wishing her well in this new endeavor.
