Last night at the Kastles Stadium at the Smith Center, the third annual Washington Kastles Charity Classic Set brought together members of Congress, national media and professional athletes to raise money for Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), Best Buddies, DC Public Education Fund, and Food & Friends.
In the end, Team Stripes won over Team Stars, 47-46 and a minimum of $5,000 was donated to each of the four charities, on top of yet to be tallied donations from ticket proceeds.
Participants included Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH), Rep. Tim Bishop (D-NY), Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-IL), Rep. Jim Costa (D-CA), Rep. John Delaney (D-MD), Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), Rep. Mike McIntyre (D-NC), Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Rep. Erik Paulsen (R-MN), Rep. Bobby Scott (D-VA), Rep. Kevin Yoder (R-KS), former Louisiana Senator John Breaux, former director of the National Economic Council Gene Sperling, Fox News’ Bret Baier and Ed Henry, ABC News’ Jonathan Karl, Bloomberg Television’s Peter Cook, former Washington Redskins Darrell Green, former Washington Redskins linebacker Rocky McIntosh, former Washington Redskins Brian Mitchell, Atlanta Falcons cornerback Josh Wilson, and chair umpire Jim Vance of NBC4.
