Longtime “60 Minutes” correspondent Morley Safer, along with a group from the Creative Coalition, will visit the Capitol Hill Visitor’s Center on Friday for National Lab Day.

(So you know: Safer has been with “60 Minutes” since 1970).

It’s not really important to understand the ins and outs of Lab Day, except it means an explosion of stars trying to persuade Congress to pay attention to the arts, science and math through discovery and exploration.

The event is part of the Creative Coalition’s Advocacy Day, not to mention all these stars are in town to attend the WHCA Dinner and/or the parties surrounding it.
