Politico‘s Patrick Gavin is leaving the site’s CLICK section to return to his original home at the publication’s main site as a features writer. Editor-in-Chief John Harris remarked on the news in an email to FishbowlDC.
“He’s been with it since the beginning and expressed interest in taking what he does–a mix of videos and some off-the-beaten-path stories–in a somewhat different direction,” said Harris. “For that reason it made sense to assign him outside Click. Most of his work will be directly on the home page.”
While this is a good move for Gavin, the section faces certain immediate pressures with him gone. As for what this all means for ClICK, which has seen a few departures in recent months, Harris said “Click is staying put.”
