Politico, will join Newswires April 12 as a Treasury and economics
McGrane has been breaking news on the financial services beat for
Politico since 2007, writing in detail about the efforts to overhaul
Wall Street regulations. In addition, she’s been reporting on the
nexus of Wall Street and Washington, including the fights over
international trade agreements, currency disputes, and reports on the
state of the economy. Prior to this, she covered the economy and
finance for Congressional Quarterly for two years and was a staff
writer for the Keene Sentinel in New Hampshire.
She earned a master’s degree in “Politics of the World Economy” from
the London School of Economics, which she attended on a Dartmouth
James B. Reynolds Scholarship for Foreign Study. She earned a
bachelor’s degree in history from Dartmouth College, where she
graduated summa cum laude.
At Newswires, she will be part of the Washington bureau’s team of
reporters covering economic news, including Treasury, the Federal
Reserve, economic indicators and she will assist with ongoing coverage
of the financial overhaul legislation.
