Robin Wright: The FishbowlDC Interview

Robin Photo2.jpg Say hello to the Washington Post’s Robin Wright, author of “Dreams and Shadows: The Future of the Middle East.”

What word do you routinely misspell? It’s not the spelling, it’s the wrong words – spelled correctly – in emails that I’ve failed to take out or check.

What’s the name of your cell phone ring? Haven’t a clue. Ring, ring something.

What time did you get up this morning? 6:15

When did you last cry and why? When I read the NYTimes cover review of my book. One of the last things my mother said to me when she died in December was “I’m sorry I won’t be around to read your reviews.” The book was dedicated to her and she would have loved, and probably wept over, the book making it on Times cover.

How many emails do you receive a day, roughly? 200 to 250

What’s your favorite letter? Do people actually have favorite letters?

What single person played the biggest role / had the biggest influence on your journalism career? Kim Kendall, a college roommate who convinced me to join the student newspaper at the University of Michigan. A suggestion that shaped a life.
