Roll Call Editor Billed as Rep. Michele Bachmann

Erin Billings, Roll Call’s deputy editor, was on a media panel at an event Thursday sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce about women in government.

So far so good.

This is when everything fell apart. In the program, all speakers and panelists have little bios and pictures, and they’re all normal, except Billings –”her” picture is that of kooky Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.).

The red-headed scribe looks absolutely nothing like the dark-haired congresswoman. Congresswoman Billings was relieved to be mistaken for a female lawmaker as opposed to a male pol: “I guess it’s better to be mistaken for Michele Bachmann than another Minnesotan, like Al Franken. It was a women in government conference. I figure it’s important that they got my gender right.”
