Salahis Snub Their Own Crasher: a Washington Examiner Reporter

Tareq and Michaele Salahi do not like uninvited guests coming to their home. Imagine that. Namely, they don’t care for the Washington Examiner’s Yeas & Nays Columnist Tara Palmeri. Palmeri dropped by uninvited on Sunday to their home in Front Royal, Va. Suffice it to say, they didn’t invite her in for cookies and lemonade. In fact, they never opened the door. “I was in the country doing a wine tasting tour, how could I resist?” Palmeri told FishbowlDC Wednesday morning.

There were lights on inside the Salahi home. A bluish gray Acura sedan was parked outside in the driveway. “I’m pretty sure they were home,” she said. Palmeri said she rang the doorbell twice, left a note saying hello and added her phone number.

Since then, Palmeri has received two e-mails accusing her of “trespassing on private property in the commonwealth of Virginia.” The e-mail is signed: Security Services. The e-mail accounts are: legal@oasiswine.com and cc’d is security@americaspolocup.com. Tareq’s business e-mail address is: Tareq@americaspolocup.com.

Palmeri said in an interview: “The Salahis want to take action against me personally because I rang their doorbell and left them a note asking to chat. I sent them messages before I went to their house saying I was going to drop by. I think it’s interesting because back in the old days that’s how reporters got in touch with their subjects and sources by going to their work and house.”

Palmeri has an update on her Salahi escapades in today’s column. An excerpt: She received a 316-word response from the even more ominous “Security Services” calling her “unstable” and saying she “knowingly violated the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.”
