ABC to Purchase Few Tables at RTCA Dinner

hotel_silverware.jpgABC has purchased two tables for the upcoming Radio & Television Correspondents’ Association dinner scheduled for March 11.

The number is telling. Many of the other networks, NBC, CNN and Fox News, have all purchased many tables, some well into double digits.

ABC is on the upswing from last year’s RTCA dinner when the network purchased only one table. “Budgets are tight, and our priority is news coverage,” said ABC spokeswoman Emily Lenzner.

> Update: Each table costs $2, 520 for purchase.

Table Tally
ABC: 2
CBS: 6
FNC: 34
CNN: 21

VandeHei, Stoddard, Allen, Quinn and kiddies.

Last night was a big night for holiday parties – the Brunswick Group held court at L2, Scene Bisnow celebrated at Public Bar but the evening’s big ticket event was hosted by Quinn, Gillespie & Associates on the roof of the new W Hotel.

Kay Hagan (D-NC) mingled with former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott (R-MS) and former Sen. John Warner (R-VA). And hostess with the most-ess Susanna Quinn dazzled in a gold cocktail dress.

Media noteables: Fox News’ Bret Baier and Amy Baier, CNN’s Ed Henry, NBC’s Savannah Guthrie, Libby Leist and Betsy Fischer, Tammy Haddad, Politico in full-force- Jim VandeHei, Mike Allen, Kim Kingsley, Jonathan Martin, Anne Schroeder Mullins, Patrick Gavin and Kiki Ryan, John McCaslin, Google’s Craig Walker, Peter Cherukuri, ABC’s Emily Lenzner, Polson Kanneth and Courtney Cohen, WaPo‘s Amy Argetsinger, Roll Call‘s Jackie Kucinich, The Hill‘s A.B. Roll Call Goes Glam for 21 Years of HOH

rcfb.jpg

Big names gathered for last night’s uber-glam bash honoring the 21st anniversary of Roll Call’s “Heard on the Hill” and a recent refresh of the RC website. The festivities took place at swanky Coco Sala where guests noshed on an array of chocolate-themed appetizers and cocktails (who knew you could mix chocolate and mojito?).

Maybe it was the chocolate…or maybe the cocktails, but RC Publisher Peter Cherukuri managed to pull Senator John Thune, Senator Trent Lott, Juleanna Glover, Yebbie Watkins, Mike Feldman, Debbie Dingell, Christina Sevilla and Senator John Breaux to help celebrate his pub’s successes.

Representing the media were Former HOHer – The Sleuth’s Mary Ann Akers, Michael Isikoff, C-SPAN’s Greta Brawner, Bloomberg’s Tim Burger,Susan Davis of the WSJ, WaPo’s Paul Kane, MSNBC’s Bob Franken, Chad Pergram of FNC, MySpace’s Lee Brenner, NYT’s Carl Hulse, Emily Lenzner from ABC News and the Examiner’s Kiki Ryan.

Christine and I were on hand to cover it for you…not for the chocolate and cocktails.

55% of the individuals on the 2009 Young & The Guest List are new additions to the list this year. (Note: the total number of listees has not increased since 2008)

39 individuals, or approximately 1 in 6, work on Capitol Hill, in the White House, the diplomatic corps, or public service

41 are CEO’s and 67 people, or approximately 1 in 4 have founded a company or non-profit

34% are married

Male 54%/Female 46%

35 people, or 12% are media professionals

The 2009 Y&GL party will be held Thursday, April 16th at an undisclosed location, and the guest list is pretty exclusively these 250 and one guest each.

To see if you’ve made the cut, check out the 35 media professionals after the jump.
