Journos Fete Kournikova and Cap File

Capitol File Magazine’s Jason Binn, John Colabelli and Sarah Schaffer feted this issue’s cover star Anna Kournikova at Oya last night. The event brought out media types such as Politico‘s Kiki Ryan, WBJ‘s Jennifer Nycz-Conner, CBS News’ Christine Delargy, CNBC’s John Harwood, Examiner‘s Tara Palmeri, CNN Political Director Sam Feist and Michelle Jaconi, new EP for CNN’s John King, USA.

Fishbowl caught up with a very dolled-up Jaconi who told us that she and King are “thrilled by the feedback and support” they received from the launch of John King, USA.

“We received dozens of flower arrangements and gift baskets on the day the show premiered – many from competitive networks,” said Jaconi.

Other guests spotted were Winston Lord, Jessica Gibson and Fingerprint DC’s Jayne Sandman and Barbara Martin.

FW Celebrates First Anniversary in Style

Schuman signed copies of his book at FW’s first anniversary party.

WaPo‘s fashion magazine FW celebrated a one-year anniversary in style last evening at newly opened Masa 14.

The FW team- publisher Jenny Abramson, editor Jennifer Barger and senior editor Betsy Lowther- welcomed everyone. “Even when 401Ks get cut in half, people like to look good.”

Philippe Cousteau and Alexandra Cousteau, grandchildren of Jacques Cousteau and Washingtonians themselves, were the mag’s guests of honor, for “exuding style while creating eco-awareness.”

“The Sartorialist” Scott Schuman, who was featured in FW‘s latest issue, sold and signed copies of his book. Schuman is a New York fashion photographer– though not your typical fashion photographer. He shoots people on the street, more abstractly.

The party was slated to end at 9pm, but with a line down the bar for “The Sartorialist” signings, we hear it went on until after midnight. Schuman blogs this morning, “I expected great things in cities like London and Paris, but DC was a total surprise.”

It was certainly a ladies night… Pamela Sorensen, Jayne Sandman, Kiki Ryan, Jessica Gibson, Pamela Brown, Angie Goff, Rachel Cothran, Jessica Hoy, Juleanna Glover, Becca Glover and Kate Michael all spotted by. And some male representation- Pepper Watkins and John Cpin. FBDC also spotted the speculated “Real Housewives of DC,” though sans camera crew.

Guests modeled for FW photographers. Pics could show up in the magazine.

Washington media stars were glammed out and grooving to a private concert by John Legend while toasting the super-chic digs with celebs like Emmy Rossum, Johnny Wright and Tatyana Ali.

Al Hunt will interview former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan on “For the Record,” which airs tonight at 7pmET.

This has nothing to do with DC media, but I am completely fascinated by this trainwreck… TLC has shut down the production of “Jon and Kate Plus 8.”

NEWS NOTES

NJ will host Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius at its next policy breakfast as part of the pub’s Health Care week, which kicks off today. Atlantic Media Political Director Ronald Brownstein will lead that discussion and NJ political analyst Charlie Cook will sit down with former Reps. Tom Davis (R-VA) and Vic Fazio (D-CA). This will be next Wednesday at 7am at the Liaison on Cap Hill.

At the “First Draft of History” event at the Newseum yesterday, Sen. Lindsey Graham slammed Fox News and Glenn Beck in an interview with Jeffrey Goldberg. On Beck: “Only in America can you make that much money crying” and Beck is “not aligned with any party as far as I can tell. He’s aligned with cynicism. And there’s always been a market for cynicism.”

A federal judge has ordered the release of records, including FBI reports, notes, and interviews, with former VP Dick Cheney associated with the investigation of the Valerie Plame leak under the Freedom of Information Act.

And on a more light-hearted note… from Playbook: “It’s POLITICO’s superstar media coordinator’s last day at work as Sara D’Angelo. The bride-to-be is off to Tucson, Arizona for a week of final touches, parties and after-parties before officially saying “I do” to her college sweetheart, Eric Olson, October, 10th. So speak now or forever hold your peace, because STBMO’s under strict orders to turn that Blackberry off! (hat tip: Diana McFadden)”
