Sara Jerome Returns to her NJ Roots

Sara Jerome‘s first day back at NJ is today. She returns to the publication from The Hill, where she was a tech policy reporter who wrote the “Hillicon Valley” blog. Before that, Jerome (picture at left at the end of the row) worked at NJ, blogging for “Tech Daily Dose” and writing technology and people content for the the magazine and NJ Daily.

Her first position in Washington was as an intern at NJ. She graduated from the University of Chicago.

An internal memo reports: “Sara is a dogged reporter and a writer with huge potential who, together with Josh Smith and Juliana Gruenwald, will bring the city’s best tech policy coverage to our subscribers across all platforms.”

The Hill Nabs Reporters From NJ and the Washington Independent

An internal memo from The Hill’s Editor Hugo Gurdon:

I’m pleased to be able to tell you of two more hires that will continue the growth of our newsroom.

Sara Jerome is joining us from National Journal, where she is a technology reporter. She arrives next Monday, May 24, and will become the third staff writer working on the Hillicon Valley blog.

Then, on June 7, we will be joined by Mike Lillis, who will be our second healthcare reporter/blogger. Mike is currently a reporter at the Washington Independent and before that was at Inside CMS.

These hires, and others still to come, result from our highly successful expansion into untapped areas of news coverage using innovative online platforms.

Thanks, Hugo

• Over 300 people were at the Embassy of Canada last night for the DistrictFile 2.0 launch party. DistrictFile is the invitation-only social networking website for political and media professionals and they’ll unveil a new platform, 2.0, next week.

The Hill‘s Kate Oczypok, Fox’s Katy Adams, Congress Daily‘s Anna Edney, NJ‘s Sara Jerome and GregsListDC’s Greg O’Neil were among those repping the media, according to last night’s party planners.

• We can’t be everywhere so while FBDC was at the Ritz with Zac Efron and Claire Danes, we let our friends at Politico cover the “recession book party.” The Weekly Standard threw Matt Continetti a book party to celebrate “The Persecution of Sarah Palin.” Check out Click’s coverage here.
