WaPo’s ‘The Fix’ Hires His Twins

Mirror mirror on the wall…who’s the fairest of them all? It’s always a little strange when someone is intensely attracted to a person who looks like the face they see in the mirror. Are they hot for themselves?

Apparently WaPo‘s Chris Cillizza, proprietor of “The Fix” reporting empire, feels most at ease with those Fixettes who look just like him. Don’t believe us?

Take a look at Cillizza (pictured at left) with Rachel Weiner and Sean Sullivan. Kinda creepy, right?

NJ’s ‘The Hotline’s’ Sullivan to WaPo’s The Fix

NJ “The Hotline’s” Sean Sullivan is moving over to WaPo to join Chris Cillizza’s Fix team.

“We’re obviously sad to see him go, but it’s also meant some well-deserved promotions on the Hotline team,” NJ Publicist Taylor West told FishbowlDC.

In the wake of Sullivan’s departure, promotions are abound: Julie Sobel will assume his former roll as editor of Hotline On Call; Tim Alberta, who has been editor of Hotline Last Call, is being promoted to senior editor, with Sarah Mimms being promoted to be his deputy editor. Kevin Brennan is stepping up as well, to senior writer.

“Our best wishes are with Sean – always great to see Hotline alums spread out throughout Washington – and we’re excited about the new roles our talent here are taking on,” West added.

House Beautiful Inspired by ‘Conspiracy’ Keanu Reeves

For the second year in a row, House Beautiful is leveraging an online sensation surrounding Keanu Reeves as part of the marketing strategy for its chair giveaway that came to D.C. last week.

It may sound strange, but it works for them. Last year, House Beautiful took a picture from the “sad Keanu” meme and photoshopped it on pink chairs all over Chicago. This year they took “conspiracy Keanu” and slapped him onto pictures of  Washington- related conspiracy theories now posted on HB’s Facebook page.

House Beautiful is continuing with its chair campaign by auctioning off chairs to benefit Homes for Our Troops.

Associate publisher Sean Sullivan explained the marketing strategy to FishbowlDC… Read more
