John Oliver Ends Season with a Bang from the ‘Salmon Cannon’

Ahead of his performance tomorrow at “The Concert for Valor” on the National Mall, John Oliver ended the inaugural season of HBO’s “Last Week Tonight” with a segment poking fun at a Washington state news story which featured a cannon that could launch salmon over dams.

Oliver gathered an impressive list of his celebrity buddies being shot in the face with the “Salmon Cannon,” including Jon Stewart, Jimmy Fallon, Tom Hanks, Dwight Howard, Seth Meyers, Anderson Cooper, Mario Batali, Rachel Ray, David Letterman, Wanda Sykes, Stephen Colbert, Wayne Brady, Meredith Vieira, and Joel McHale. Even Homer Simpson and R2D2 made appearances.

Don’t forget, “The Concert for Valor” is a free event tomorrow on the National Mall in honor of Veterans Day. (Oliver’s wife Kate Norley is an Iraq War veteran.) Click here for more information.

FOX News’ Megyn Kelly Joins ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ on Interview with Dick Cheney

FOX News Channel’s Megyn Kelly joined Seth Meyers on “Late Night” Thursday and discussed her June interview with Dick Cheney in which she asked the former veep, “What do you say, to those who say, that you were so wrong, about so much, at the expense of so many,” following his op-ed with his daughter Lynn Cheney for the Wall Street Journal criticizing President Obama’s foreign policy in Iraq.

“That is what I do for a living,” Kelly told Meyers. ”It got a lot of attention and it was interesting because he, Liz Cheney and Lynn Cheney went on a political roundtable afterward and Mike Allen said, ‘Oh, you know Megyn Kelly at FOX News, no enemy to you, called you out in this fashion.’ And Mrs. Cheney said, ‘Of course she did. That is what journalists are expected to do.’ I really appreciated her saying that and I said on my own show, he is right, I’m not an enemy to Dick Cheney and I’m not a friend to Dick Cheney. I’m a journalist who has to ask tough questions and he came in and answered them.”

CNN’s Jake Tapper Joins Seth Meyers, NJ Gov. Chris Christie Sits Down with Jimmy Fallon

Looking for a laugh? Look no further than tonight’s comedy lineup where CNN host of “The Lead” Jake Tapper will sit down with Seth Meyers for his “Late Night” program. No clue yet as to what the topic of conversation will be but expect some jabs at the news anchor’s media career and March coverage of the missing plane.

Also running the circuit – Chris Christie will join Jimmy Fallon as a guest on “Tonight.” The New Jersey Governor has been a joke line for Fallon, most recently surrounding criticism of Bridgegate. On past programs, Fallon quipped ”Christie was furious when they blocked the bridge because he thought they said they were blocking the fridge” and “Christie apologized and promised the bridge will stay open for cars, trucks, and the buses he’s throwing his staff under.”
