Tapper to Colbert: You Never Call Anymore

Jake Tapper laments the loss of Steven Colbert from his life. From “Down and Dirty“:

Stephen Colbert of Comedy Central, was my “date” to the White House Correspondents dinner earlier this year. A great American and genuinely nice guy. During dinner, he excused himself to take a cell phone call from, I think, his agent. He returned to the table to tell me he’d just signed the deal for “The Colbert Report,” which began running opposite “Nightline” earlier this week.

But Colbert has stopped returning my calls ever since I showed him D.C. that night. Was it something I said? Something I didn’t say? Was he expecting action of some sort? I feel quite spurned. So when I anchor “Nightline” again tonight; won’t you please watch so as to teach that cad Colbert a lesson?
