The Hill Hires New Business & Lobbying Editor

The Hill‘s Editor Hugo Gurdon, in a memo to staff Monday afternoon, announced the new hire of Dustin Weaver to be the new Business & Lobbying editor, a post formerly occupied by Jim Synder, who recently left the publication to go to Bloomberg News. Weaver most recently worked at WaPo‘s Express as the national news editor.

The memo:

Dustin Weaver, national news editor at Express, the Washington Post’s commuter paper, will be joining The Hill as Business & Lobbying editor on July 5. Before working at Express, Dustin was deputy business editor at the Washington Examiner. I am delighted with this latest addition to the newsroom; Dustin has years of experience with the B&L subject matter and is also skilled at making it compelling and accessible to the sort of wide audience that we now attract. Our rapid expansion has made additional editing power indispensable and we have found the right person for the job. Thanks, HG
