WaPo Adds Producer to Foreign Desk

WaPo is moving Olga Khazan to the foreign desk to be a producer. She’ll be responsible for daily digital presentation. She joined the publication in October 2011 to work on the Small Business section. As her name suggests, she speaks Russian fluently, which might help in navigating WaPo‘s website since nothing else seems to be working.

Congratulations to Olga!

See the internal memo…

We’re pleased to announce that Olga Khazan will join the foreign desk as a producer on June 4, assuming primary responsibility for day-to-day digital presentation of world and national security content.

A fluent Russian speaker, Olga has a broad range of experience, including work as a writer and multimedia producer. At the Post, she has worked since October 2011 as a reporter and web producer for On Small Business, and in recent months she has also produced Where We Live, the real estate blog. She is an accomplished writer whose bylined stories have appeared in Sunday Business and on the cover of Real Estate.

Olga is a graduate of American University and the University of Southern California, where she earned her master’s in journalism. Her overseas experience includes stints in South Africa, Belgium and Britain. She will work with Anup Kaphle, our digital editor, who oversees digital efforts for foreign and national security.
