WHCA Dinner Focus of New Documentary by Patrick Gavin

152_7998096993_511_nFormer FishbowlDC-er Patrick Gavin‘s last day at POLITICO was yesterday and the reporter who’s covered nearly 10 years of the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner is working on a documentary exploring the annual event.

According to VarietyGavin has “more than 20 hours of footage of interviews with association board members, past headliners, celebrities, event planners, and correspondents” and “will focus on why dozens of celebrities would trek to D.C. at the same time every year to celebrate the White House press corps.”

The project is slated to be named “Nerd Prom: Washington’s Wildest Week.” Think of it like DC’s version of “Girls Gone Wild” and read more about it here.
