Arianna Huffington To Introduce Site Tailored To Black Community

Arianna Huffington is teaming up with BET co-founder Sheila Johnson to launch “Huffpost Global Black” – a website that, according to an official press release, will provide “news, politics, culture, opinion, and video through the lens of the black experience.”  The site will feature interviews, original content, investigative reporting, and a group blog with guest contributors.  Huffington explained how the new project will complement the main Huffington Post site:

This a two-way partnership with HuffPost GlobalBlack content and vision informing all of HuffPost’s coverage, and HuffPost’s editorial and reporting team covering stories shaping the black community.

HuffPo’s former SVP of business development Derek Murphy has been tapped as the new site’s COO.  No date has been set for the Huffpost Global Black debut, however it is expected to be released in March.
