Bob Schieffer has announced his intent to retire from CBS. The Face the Nation host will be bowing out on January 20, 2009 — Inaguration Day. Schieffer, a diabetic who is in remission from bladder cancer, is 70 years old.
In an interview with the Associated Press, Schieffer indicated that he still plans to work at CBS as an occasional contributor.
