Burbank Animator Ups Kickstarter Ante with Tim Burton Pitch

Hats off to Brian Joseph Ochab. In putting together his pitch on Kickstarter.com for the stop-motion short Tim, he went out and got Christopher Lee to do the voiceover narration.

At press time, Ochab is a long way off his goal of $150,000 raised. But he may have set a new, celebrity-infused precedent as far as how to attract potential project backers:

Ochab conceived his project after watching Burton’s 1982 short Vincent. In that one, a little boy wants to grow up to be Vincent Price. In Ochab’s project, the kid wants to be … Tim Burton. (Eighty-eight-year-old narrator Lee has worked on a quartet of Burton feature films including Alice in Wonderland and Sleepy Hollow.)

In the video pitch, Ochab explains how when he first came to LA, he had only $300 in his pocket and slept in his car. Today, he is chief creative officer of Wonder Motion Studios.
