Casey Kasem Memorial Imbued with the Spirit of Humanitarianism

ShutterstockCaseyKasemAll three children from Casey Kasem‘s first marriage were at a memorial held in Los Angeles over the weekend for their legendary dad. And it is one of those offspring, Kerri Kasem, who has delivered a most inspiring quote.

Here’s what she told New York Daily News west coast bureau chief Nancy Dillon:

“The one thing I heard over and over from people was that the memorial inspired them to live a better life and be a better person. Everyone got to hear about my dad’s humanitarian work and what a great father and friend he was.”

According to Dillon, Kerri will be meeting Wednesday with Santa Monica Police to discuss filing an elder abuse claim against stepmom Jean. And over the weekend, Kerri herself started a new radio gig as a special backstage correspondent at Rising Star for Westwood One’s Red Carpet Radio.

P.S. On Monday June 16, the night following Kasem’s death, Coast to Coast AM host George Noory paid tribute to a man he called both an idol and personal mentor. Noory, after sharing some recollections about how much he identified growing up with the fellow Detroit local and Middle Eastern, read out loud some more formal thoughts in the form of one of Kasem’s famous listener letters. RIP.
