Angels Pitcher Beans Former Teammate on Twitter

FishbowlLA believes this is the social media equivalent of intentionally hitting an opposing MLB batter.

Per a report on ESPNDallas.com, Los Angeles Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson (pictured) did not take kindly to a recent declaration by former Texas Rangers teammate Mike Napoli that the latter was looking forward to hitting homers off of him. So what did Wilson do? Post Napoli’s cell phone number on Twitter.

That tweet has since been deleted, and after a brief period of time, Wilson urged his followers to move on. But a steamed Napoli refuses to accept Wilson’s designation of the weekend Twitter stunt as a “prank.” Said the catcher, first baseman and recent post-season star to the Fort-Worth Star Telegram:

“You don’t do that… If I have a problem with somebody, I’m going to call them. I just think it was uncalled for.”

Looks like we won’t have to wait long to see how this plays out on the field. The Angels and Rangers are set for a three-game series beginning March 24.
