Country Living Hires West Coast Manager

country-living-dec-05_cover.jpgHearst Corp. may not be having its annual Christmas gala for the second year in the row, but the company is still doing relatively well compared to the rest of the industry.

While layoffs plague rivals like Time Inc. and Condé Nast, Hearst is in the process of hiring and promoting staffers. Their latest move? Taking former Cooking Light manager and maternity leave sub at Marie Claire to head up its Pacific Northwest Manager position at Country Living.

Cooking Light is owned by a subsidiary of Time Inc., so Hearst’s (relative) job security must come as something of a relief to Griffis.

Full press release after the jump.

Erin Griffis joins Country Living magazine as Pacific Northwest Manager. Erin is no stranger to the marketplace or Hearst. A grad of Washington State University, she began her career at CN’s Women’s Sports & Fitness in Boulder, Colorado before moving to San Francisco for Rodale Press’ Bicycling Magazine. Erin joined Cooking Light in 1998 where she spent 10 years as San Francisco Manager before leaving to stay home with her two children in early 2008. Throughout her Cooking Light years she did an incredible job growing the San Fran business to unprecented highs in pages and revenue with many of the Pacific North West’s marquis accounts such as Nike, Visa, Microsoft, Holland-America and others. Erin recently completed 7 months of maternity fill-in for Marie Claire from 11/2008 to 5/2009.
