With a monthly average of 115 million unique visitors and 2.5 billion video views, dailymotion.com ranks as the world’s 31st most visited website. In other words, newly appointed partnership manager Dan Milano is going to have the benefit of playing with a very loaded deck.
Milano was recruited away from ABC News, where he was social media editor. He also owns some impressive personal Web stats, with his original videos for Wooden Nickel Shorts and Mondo Media having accumulated more than five million views. From today’s announcement:
“Dan has a unique understanding of the social space and the content that drives it,” said Roland Hamilton, managing director of Dailymotion US.
“I am very excited to join the talented and enthusiastic Dailymotion team,” added Milano. “I look forward to utilizing my social media experience and viral content creation skills to help expand the reach of all the great content showcased on the site.”
After graduating from Boston College with a degree in English and Film, Milano started out professionally at Choose Your Own Adventure and JibJab Media. On Twitter, he recently and temporarily changed his handle to @DanMilanoXYZ with the profile mention that a “new 9-to-5 thing is now in the works.” Was it ever.
