Nilou Motamed has been named the new editor-in-chief of Epicurious, the food site from Condé Nast. Motamed comes to the site from Travel + Leisure, where served as features director and senior correspondent. During her time at the magazine it earned seven James Beard Journalism Award wins and nominations.
“As an obsessive food lover — and a devoted user of Epicurious since the early days — I’m thrilled to be joining the Epicurious family,” said Motamed, in a statement. “Most of all, I’m excited to engage with our tremendously passionate audience. I look forward to working with the Epicurious team to continue to grow our community and unlock the potential of this amazing brand.”
Motamed succeeds Tanya Steel, who is staying with Epicurious, but will shift her focus to special features.
Motamed begins November 11. She’ll report to Carolyn Kremins, senior VP and general manager of Epicurious.
