Exclusive: Katie Couric Contract Countdown: 65 Days Left

And so it begins. Err, ends. Err — whatever the case, we here at FishbowlNY are suckers for contractual drama, particularly when it involves morning television news personalities. And nothing could be more dramatic in that sense than Katie Couric, who has 65 days left on her five-year, $65 million deal with NBC’s Today. Will her lush legs stay folded in the Today show seat? Will she take a seat behind the CBS Evening News desk? And when will she decide?

Taking a page from TVNewser’s playbook, we’ll be posting daily updates — including news, insights and your own respective takes on the undulating saga at 30 Rockfeller Plaza — until May 31, or when Katie decides which career path to, umm, giggle along. And, of course, at least 65 different images of the most wanted woman in TV news.
