Glamour Magazine Practically Giving It Away

glamour.jpgGlamour is currently offering one year subscriptions to the women’s magazine for $1.50. The magazine is celebrating it’s 70th anniversary, and they are so giddy about the big 7-0 that they are selling their subscriptions for the same price they were in 1939. And we’re sure it’s all birthday giddiness, and not a desperate attempt to raise circulation numbers in an effort to be more attractive to advertisers.

While we find Glamour only slightly less vapid than Cosmo, we’ll be forking over the buck-fifty in the hopes that their strategy catches on, and The New Yorker follows suit.
