In this month’s “The Essentials” column — our favorite men’s mag infograph detailing how you should spend your free time each month not called “The Leisure Meter” — GQ name checks NY literary wonderboy (and n+1 founder) Keith Gessen and his “self-important” new book All the Sad Young Literary Men in the “What Everyone Will Be Talking About” section.

But what book should everyone be talking about, at least according to GQ tastemakers Mickey Rapikin and Kevin Sintumuang? I Was Told There’d Be Cake, the significantly less pretentiously-titled debut from Sloane Crosley. Something tells us the most popular publicist in New York called in a favor or two.
