Hearst Creates “The App Lab” In Hearst Tower

Hearst has created a new venture it’s calling “The App Lab” right in Hearst Tower. Beginning in September, the Lab will host educational sessions, including previews of mobile content, apps, platforms advertiser and agency roundtables on new ad formats and models, and more. Then, early next year, Hearst will unveil a an actual, physical space within Hearst Tower devoted solely to showcasing the company’s iPhone, iPad and tablet products.

Hearst has created 11 apps so far, including Redbook‘s One Stop Shop. The company also has iPad versions of all 14 of its magazines, with more iPad apps from individual titles set to roll out later this year.
