‘Man Candles’ Teenage Entrepreneur on Lopez Tonight

This is just too funny, and definitely DVR-worthy.

For his latest media appearance, 13-year-old Ohio high school student Hart Main will guest this evening on Lopez Tonight to unveil the newest scent in his “ManCans” line. The scented candles made especially for men already include such aromatic touchstones as “Sawdust,” “Grandpa’s Pipe,” and FishbowlLA instant favorite “New York Style Pizza.”

Ahead of his talk show appearance, which will appropriately be shared with former The Man Show co-host Adam Carolla, Main gets a nice write-up in the Columbus Dispatch. The kid pockets 50 cents per item, wants to eventually work in sports radio, and has basically stumbled into a booming business:

The demand for ManCans–carried in 11 states–has shown such swift growth that his parents pitch in each night to manage spreadsheets, handle sales-tax and shipping issues… His parents have since made an investment in the venture, forming a limited liability company and trust that will be turned over to their son when he turns 18.

If Main ever chooses to create a candle honoring the non-female curated side of the journalistic profession, may we suggest “Stale Newsroom Coffee.”

Update – 06/14/11: You can watch video of Main’s Lopez Tonight appearance here.
