MANHATTAN Magazine Launches New Social Title

This fall, MANHATTAN magazine is launching a new title, Charity & Social Datebook, which will highlight charity, cultural and social events.  Former Town & Country editor Alexis Clark will serve as editor of the annual guide.

Clark was a senior editor for eight years at Town & Country, where she covered philanthropic and cultural events across the country.

“Finding an editor who thoroughly understands all aspects of New York’s dynamic social and philanthropic scene was the priority, and we most definitely found that person in Alexis,” says Leslie Wolfson, publisher of MANHATTAN. “And I have no doubt her experience and talent will help make Datebook a resource that affluent New Yorkers and the people who run our city’s various charitable organization can’t live without.”

“I couldn’t have asked for a more exciting project to work on,” Clark says. “Having attended and covered the most prestigious philanthropic events in New York for so many years, I feel very connected to the city’s charitable scene and I relish the opportunity to make Datebook a beautiful publication that will serve this very giving community.”

Charity & Social Datebook will be comprised of a calendar listing, profiles of social and civic leaders, features on selected charities and photos from New York charity events.

Last year, MANHATTAN announced that it would be increasing its frequency from seven to ten times a year in 2012.
