Mister Cee Resigns from Hot 97 Amid Drag Queen Solicitation Accusations

This is now way for a hip-hop legend to go out. Mister Cee, who has been with Hot 97 since 1993, has resigned from the station amid accusations by a drag queen that Cee requested sexual services. On the air, Cee said he was stepping down because “I never want to be in a situation where I get pushed out anywhere.”

Early this morning, the Internet erupted when a drag queen by the name of Bimbo Whinehouse (sigh) posted a recording of what he claimed was Cee soliciting him. This isn’t the first time Cee has had his name connected to solicitation; he has been arrested twice in the past for incidents involving prostitutes.

Hot 97 issued the following statement:

Due to some personal circumstances that have become public, after 20 years of service, Mr Cee has chosen to resign.  We feel that this is in the best interest of both HOT 97 and Cee’s personal well-being. While we do not endorse the alleged activities, he is clearly facing a personal dilemma that is for him and only him to comment on. We are saddened by his departure; his contributions here at HOT 97 were great and we know him as a friend, a caring individual and significant hip hop advocate. We wish Mr Cee the best and will always consider him a family member of HOT 97.
