Report: Rising New York Post Star Gets City Hall Bureau

Another scoop for Capital New York media reporter Joe Pompeo. According to his multiple sources, the New York Post has tapped education reporter Yoav Gonen, “considered a star internally” (pictured), to take over from David Seifman as the Post‘s City Hall bureau chief.

Pompeo has more. Per his quick Web research, this rising star also likes to dabble in house music. Something that could come in handy for the celebration party.

Pompeo links to Gonen’s SoundCloud page , where the journalist lists himself as YoMasterAv. We listened to Gonen’s “Winter Mix 2012″ while writing this item; very catchy.

Watch the Pompeo item for further updates, confirmation. At press time, Gonen, the Post and Gonen’s imminent City Hall mate Beth DeFalco (incoming from Albany) had all yet to respond. In the meantime, our heartiest unofficial congrats to Gonen, DeFalco.
