New York Post‘s Bracketology
The latest example of the media’s March Madness crush
It’s March Madness, a.k.a the time of year when every media outlet thinks it’s so clever in creating its very own industry-specific “Final Four” bracket. There’s even a book out proclaiming to be the “Final Four Of Everything.” Today, the Post devotes a two-page spread to an altogether absurb tournament “to put together one sweet N.Y.C. evening.” OK, we’ll bite (Gray’s Papaya ousts Graydon Carter‘s Waverly Inn in the Sweet 16) but, please. Mr. Big over Jack Bauer in the first round? That’s like a #16 beating a #1 — something that has never happened in the NCAA. Ever.
