LX.TV, the stylish broadband television network website, today announced that it has been acquired by NBC Universal's local media division. FishbowlNY phoned Morgan Hertzan, one of the site's founders, this afternoon to talk about his life in the New York fishbowl. In a previous incarnation he worked as an executive producer at MTVU. ''I learned how to build things, how to build teams and work together from the ground up.''

And on any tips for start-ups, Morgan offered, ''My advice is to be open. The beginning you get into when you open is not always how it ends up.'' LX.TV, a 22-month old company was founded by Morgan Hertzan and Joseph Varet. Both will remain on in leadership roles.

''This is a significant investment in our Local Media Division,'' said John Wallace, President, NBC Local Media Division in the press release. ''As we continue to grow our business outside of the traditional television space, one of our priorities has been to increase our local content production, with a particular focus on lifestyle and cultural programming. We worked with LX.TV on several projects at WNBC, and their understanding of the local marketplace and what appeals to the young urban audience -- not just in New York, but beyond -- makes them a great fit for our division.''
