Nerve.com, the sex site for "urban, media-savvy individuals in their 20s and 30s," needs a new editor-in-chief (and a features editor).

Interestingly, there is no mention of the positions on the site's own jobs page. We emailed Nerve.com founder Rufus Griscom for comment about the position and to find out the status of current EIC Will Doig, but he hasn't gotten back to us. We'll let you know if/when we find out anything.

UPDATE: Griscom emailed the following — "It is true that we are hiring for both a features editor position and an editor-in-chief position. I can't say anything beyond that right now."

Nerve, the award-winning online magazine, is looking for a new Editor-in-Chief. The salary range is $90,000 to $150,000, depending on experience. Benefits include health and dental coverage and a substantial options package.

Responsibilities
— Oversees day-to-day operations of the magazine, including managing the editorial team, coordinating a large stable of freelancers, working within a budget and collaborating with the publisher.
— Directs the editorial content of the magazine. Commissions and edits features, essays, interviews and special issues. Supervises a number of blogs, and works closely with the photo editor to choose art for stories, galleries and photo essays.
— Leads weekly editorial staff meetings to discuss and develop coverage.
— Conceptualizes and executes long-term vision for the Nerve brand by organizing offline events, publishing anthologies, and generally directing the tone, look and feel of the site.
— Tracks traffic trends and analytics, and conceives and implements traffic-boosting content ideas to create a sustainable upward trend in the number of visitors to the site.

Desired Skills/Experience
— At least five years experience working as an editor at a major publication. Online experience and management experience preferred.
— A sizable stable of writers who can reliably produce quality content for Nerve.
— A feel for what Nerve's demo (urban, media-savvy individuals in their 20s and 30s) cares about and is talking about at any given moment.
— Ability to manage and work well with a diverse, opinionated staff.
— A passion for great writing and photography and a broader gratitude for existence is a plus.
