Parents has added an Arabic language version to its team, expanding the brand to countries in the Middle East for the first time.
This week, Parents Arabia is hitting newsstands in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, with plans for more expansion in places like Jordan and Bahrain in the coming months. The Meredith Corp. title is being published and distributed in Arabic through a licensing agreement with Saudi Specialized Publishing Co.
Parents already publishes local editions in six other countries including China and India. Meredith is also looking at opportunities to launch other brands abroad through additional licensing agreements.

Middle East Parents Edition Expands Brand to 7th Country
NEW YORK, N.Y. (February 1, 2010) — Meredith Corporation (NYSE: MDP) announced today that it has launched an Arabic language version of its highly popular Parents magazine.
Parents Arabia is published and distributed under license by Saudi Specialized Publishing Company, a Riyadh-based subsidiary of Saudi Research & Publishing Company (SSPC). The first issue is currently hitting newsstands in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and the two companies plan on expanding the relationship across the Middle East to reach additional audiences in countries such as Jordan and Bahrain.
Since its acquisition of Parents magazine in 2005, Meredith has rapidly expanded the licensing of the Parents brand. Today, the brand is published locally in six countries, including China, Indonesia, India and Greece.
