Coffee Shop Makes Richard Gere a Great Offer

Our pal Steven Rea, film critic for the Philadelphia Inquirer, shared this great photo he took earlier today:

Gere is in town shooting the movie Franny with Theo James and Dakota Fanning. The female owners of Menagerie Coffee in Old City, PA heard that some location filming was happening in the neighborhood and figured, why not?

A rep for the coffee shop told FishbowlNY no one associated with the film production or Gere himself has shown up yet to carry away the complimentary java. But as they so astutely also noted: “The day’s not over yet!” We imagine the other end of the deal really requires the actor to show up, not some parka-garbed underling.

In the film, Gere stars as the titular Franny, a philanthropist who seeks to recapture his youth by meddling in the lives of a young married couple.
