Two Trade Publication Staffs Walk Into a Westwood Office Building…

Among the various Twitter wise-cracks posted in response to the news that Variety, Deadline (and other PMC Web publications) will soon be sharing the same LA westside digs was this one:

More like reality TV show. Especially since one of the floors being leased at the Westwood high rise will feature “a full video production studio and three green-screen rooms.”

Just imagine some of the storylines that could be amplified by adept show producers: Mike Fleming, popping in occasionally from the east coast to say hi to his former Variety workmates; one publication’s trio of editors-in-chief ¬†grousing about why they can’t work from home, like the EIC of a sister site; and more.

As we were writing this post, the various Twitter accounts of Deadline staff all simultaneously blasted out at an identical tweet linking to the announcement news. For Jay Penske, the ING Direct building at 11175 Santa Monica Blvd. also comes with the benefit of being within convenient lunching distance of Brentwood.
