Report: Adam Cohen Leaving New York Times

adamcohen02082010.pngMediaite reports that Adam Cohen, member of the New York Times‘ editorial board since 2002, is leaving the paper.

Citing Times editorial page editor Andrew Rosenthal, Mediaite said that Cohen will be taking a job at Yale’s Media and Internet Law program.

Mediaite had earlier reported, citing a “tipster with a good track record,” that Cohen had been fired from the editorial board. Rosenthal refuted this suggestion to Mediaite:

Adam informed us a few weeks ago that he had accepted a teaching position at Yale law school. It was entirely his decision.

Cohen’s recent articles for the Times‘ Op-Ed section include a discussion of a BBC radio program that is available as a podcast; whether, in legal terms, a baby can have three biological parents; and how the plot of Avatar depends directly on the film’s use of 3-D technology.
